The color blue

How does the color blue make you feel?

New edition to the Studio

View out the East bank of windows

Hudson the 4 month old Boxer is the newest addition to the studio. Right now he does a lot of sleeping but not before long will he be handing us shot bags, transferring files, and placing lunch orders. I rescued him for a pound in Queens so he still has his floppy ears and long tail which will stay unclipped. The only unclipped Boxer in NYC... probably not but I have yet to see another boxer with a long tail in the city.

LIV Nightclub in Miami is a sure treat for the senses

A few weeks ago I photographed the ever so impressive LIV Nightclub situated in the Fontainbleau Hotel Resort at 4441 Collins Ave in Miami Beach. Designed by the amazing team of Architects at Seed Design Studio in NYC. The firm is led by partners Gonzalo Bustamante and Vincent Celano who collectively share over 30 years of experience in the Architectural and Design Industry.    http://www.seeddesignstudio.com
The sure scale of the club is enough to impress anybody. But wait to get completely blown away when the light show kicks in to create the ultimate clubbing experience. The ceiling of the club is dome shaped with thousands of LED lights that change color depending on the mood the DJ wants to set and the lit staircases at LIV make the glass stairs at the Apple Store look forgettable. So, if any one of you are heading to Miami Beach I highly recommend stepping foot into LIV for a cocktail and let the DJ take you to another world while taking in all the amazing Architecture the club has to offer.

Photography for Steelcase's Coalesse Brand

Just recently I finished up a project shooting over 100 shots for Coalesse. Coalesse is a new company formed by furniture giants Steelcase. I was totally impressed with the beautiful lines and overall design of the product. Not to mention, it is all backed by Steelcase's top quality manufacturing so I would imagine that this furniture would last longer than any one of us are alive. I would like to remodel my office with several of the teak pieces. The dark wood on the metal legs has such an inviting and comfortable presence about it. The following was taken from the Coalesse web site http://coalesse.com "Gone are the harsh lines and glaring surfaces that have long characterized the workplace. Coalesse has replaced them with softened, contoured shapes that represent the new sensibilities of the modern way we work. We partner with brands like Carl Hansen & Son (Denmark), Walter Knoll AG & Co. (Germany), and Viccarbe (Spain), and PP Mobler (Denmark) to offer a growing collection of products for live/work environments. Coalesse also brings together the rich design histories of three brands from the Steelcase family of companies - Brayton, Metro, and Vecta- as part of the new Coalesse brand.

On Location in Germany for Stryker Medical

Me and my assistant Ira along with a film crew spent a week in Germany photographing and filming for Stryker Medical. We were creating a marketing piece for one their divisions called CMF. Our job assignment was to capture environmental portraits of people ranging from plant managers, to plant workers, as well as executives and the CEO to tell a story of the individuals and how they have impacted the quality of the tools created by Stryker CMF. We traveled to two facilities, one in Stetten and one in Frieburg where we met some amazing individuals and saw the processes used to create the intricate tools used for surgeries.
Eat your veggies Ira.

Oh, the food!

Downtown Frieburg market district

The rumor has it that if you fall into one of the old water channels that run all throughout the city of Frieburg you need to marry a local and stay there. The channels were once used for fire control. Towns men and women would fill buckets from the channels and use the water to put out home and business fires.

The no smoking thing has not caught on in Germany yet
